Are you 60 years or older? Do you want to get involved in identifying research needs for health and care of older people? You can get involved with the Ageing Research Network.

The Ageing Research Network was set up by researchers of the Robert Gordon University and collaborates with NHS Grampian and Aberdeen University. This network involves researchers, doctors, nurses, policy makers, care workers, charities, educators and members of the public. Their first meeting took place in September 2019.

Professor Angela Kydd, Clinical Professor in Nursing at RGU and NHS Grampian is one of the co-founder of the network and gave us an overview of its aim: “The network aims to improve research in older people’s health and wellbeing, as well as improving services for older people. It has been created to provide an opportunity for all those interested in research or service improvement for older people can come together and generate creative, innovative ideas.”

Dr Aileen Grant, a Senior Research Fellow at RGU and a co-founder of the network told us: “So far we have over 70 people in the network. We are excited to bring together this group of people from a variety of backgrounds. We would also welcome interested people to join the network and be involved in the future of older people’s care.”

If you would like to join the network or attend these events, please contact Heather Nicolson: h.nicolson@rgu.ac.uk

The next meeting is planned for February/March 2020 and a date will be confirmed towards the end of this year.
