Our emergency care research team was RAPIDly off the starting block for the RAPID-I* study. They recruited their first patient to the study only 1 day after receiving the green light for starting recruitment. Well done Mandi, Sirjana, Leia and Jamie!
RAPID-I is looking to find out if Infliximab can help patients admitted to A&E with acute pancreatitis, for which there is no current targeted therapy. The research is organised by the University of Liverpool and is led locally by Dr Jamie Cooper. For more information and live study updates you can visit the RAPID-I website.
*This study has been funded by the National Institute for Health Research Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation (EME) Programme (ref: 15/20/01).
