Our NHS Grampian study team has received a Special Recognition for Engagement with the British Society for Rheumatology Psoriatic Arthritis Register (BSR-PsA). The BSR-PsA study is a long-term UK wide observational study funded by the British Society for Rheumatology. The register gathers real world data on patients with psoriatic arthritis. Patients report on their treatment, symptoms and quality of life during their routine visits to the hospital. The study is coordinated by the Epidemiology group of the University of Aberdeen, and the study coordination team issued the following statement in recognition of the Grampian teams achievement: “A huge thank you to the NHS Grampian study team and all of your participants—your contribution is helping to build a national resource that will make a real difference to people living with psoriatic arthritis.”
Dr Rosemary Hollick, rheumatology consultant in NHS Grampian commented: "I’m delighted to be part of the British Society for Rheumatology Register in Psoriatic Arthritis—a vital national study collecting real-world data to improve care for people with PsA across the UK. Despite competing demands, it remains a unique resource for understanding treatments and shaping more holistic, patient-centred services—something patients often tell us they want to be part of to help improve care for others."
NHS Grampian was the first study site to open in 2018 and have recruited over 50 patients since then. Well done team!
